Tennessee DUI / DWI Defense Lawyer

Tennessee Personal Injury Attorney

Now in his 10th year of practice, Robert Kurtz focuses his law practice on representing individuals who have been charged with crimes in State and Federal court.  His firm also represents select cases involving catastrophic injury and death in auto and truck accidents.

Robert was raised in south Louisiana, near the historic town of Grand Coteau.  Being raised in the heart of Acadiana, the Cajun-French area of Louisiana, was very rewarding.  Food, language and music were all very different than what he has come to love in East Tennessee.  Robert obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  In 1997, Robert moved to Knoxville to attend the University of Tennessee, College of Law.  Robert received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 2000, graduating with Honors.

Robert believes that practicing law also means giving back to the community.  Robert is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Tennessee College of Law working with teams of students in the Innocence/Wrongful Convictions Clinic.  Robert is also the Criminal Justice Act Panel Attorney Representative for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.  In this capacity, he acts as a liaison between the federal judiciary and the bar.  In addition, Robert served on the Wesley House Community Center Board of Directors from 2006-2008.

Robert is an active member of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers having served as co-chair of the Continuing Legal Education committee.  Robert is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and the Knoxville Bar Association.

Robert, Lori and their two children Ella and Cape are proud to call Knoxville home.
